To find the "Real" wattage of your amp"
Connecta volt meter to the speaker out, + to + and - to -. do this with the speaker connected.
Now turn the volt meter on and set it to AC Volts.
Now play your music. When I do this to sub amps, I like to use a bass cd and find a track that will play a constant note for about 5 of 10 seconds. By doing the constant note it will allow the voltage to stabilize and not jump allover the place.
Now that you have this number, for easy math I will say that the number is 50.
You square the number so 50*50=2500
Now you divide this by the total ohms of all speakers connected to the amp you are testing. Lets say you have a DVC sub with 2 4ohm VC's and they are ran in series. so you have 8ohms.
2500/8=312.5
Your amp was putting out 312.5 watts to the speakers when it measured 50 volts.
Here is the formula: Watts=AC Volts sq/Ohms
Here is a site that will do it for you, all you need to do is punch in a couple numbers.

Also, is this your amp?
If so then here is what it does.
Rated Continuous Power
125W x 2 @ 4-Ohms RMS
250W x 2 @ 2-Ohms RMS
500W x 1 @ 4-Ohms bridged RMS
Using the reference above and the link in the previous post. I found out that this amp delivers just under 23 ac volts per channel.
Here is a reference page:

If this is not your amp, post a pic of the label on the rear.

I just had MTX Audio dual 12's wired in paralell. They are 400 rms but I am running a 480 rms amp. They were just isntalled tonight and hit HARD and do well with every kind of music I throw at it. I can only imagine when they break in.

Yeah those MTX Audio's are good if you DO have a budget. The difference is they dont SOUND like a budget set up. They hit harder and cleaner than anything else I have heard around here.

sound quality in a huge ported box hmm..
if you want tight accurate bass (sq) get a sealed box.
Ported boxes play Louder from what I have researched in the past..Etc.
this is what I think: just my opinion
Ported = loud, big box, SPL. Etc..
sealed = tight bass, accurate bass, SQ. Etc..
You need a good quality & powerful subwoofer. Kicker Solobaric L5 or L7, Kicker Comp VR, Rockford Fosgate P3 or Power Series subs, MTX, Alpine, JL Audio, Etc.....
Research and Search the web

Don't mess w/ the mtx subs. There's much better out there. I never saw anywhere how much you were looking to spend. Also, the RF amp is UNDERRATED. RF makes solid amps manG. Theres a couple different choices for you. Look into the Fi Audio 12" SSD or a 12" SI BM. Both of those are amazing subs for the money. LMK if I can help out any other way
