Recommend good (cheaper) summer tires for 2006 Civic

Hi all,

I searched for this but didn't find anything.

Any recommendations for a good brand/model for the '06 Civic -

on the cheaper side if possible. Wear and ride factors about equal.

Thanks

You're not looking for dedicated "Summer Tires" right? Because those are usually for people who push there cars fast and don't want to worry about grip loss when heat cycled.

...and those are usually not cheap. They're also very dangerous in the cold and some may not grip at all in the rain.

What type of driving conditions are you using them for

-city commute
-back road spirited driving
-autoX

?

Yeah, I just read that about 'summer tires' too.

So I went with Goodyear Viva 3 / All Season - they seem great.

Thanks.

Ya I usually run all seasons.

The best combo for me would be

-all season for March to November
-Winters for Dec. to Feb.
-and racing tires for AutoX

...but for now I'm cheeping out and just running All Season tires.

Re: Recommend good (cheaper) summer tires for 2006 Civic

i have Pireli P4"s on my 8th gen they worked well this winter and work even
better in the dry. "but what i find with all seasons is when there new they work well
1st year but when they wear down they get a little dicey in the snow thats
because on most all season tires there making the outside shoulders stiffer than ever
before for firm cornering & what I'm seeing is a lot of manufactures putting V & Z rated tires

on small 4 cylinder cars just the other day i seen a 2017 kia optima with V rated all season
tires.? what a joke. LOL ...! i think even the new civic has them too..? Reason being
manufactures are doing this..? is for "Fuel Economy" Reasons thats... it" V-Z
rated all season tires have hard shoulders less rolling resistance its all about squeezing out
the best fuel econo out of them, great for running around in the dry but come winter
they can be a hand full to handle in snow.
