Smile Driver side front wheel squealing

I have an 07 Civic LX...recently after the car has been parked overnight and when I start driving in the AM or even PM the front driver side wheel starts to whine or squeal when I drive...when I apply the brakes it gets softer but getting up to speed it gets louder...eventually after it will stop for a few miles and then start up again...I took the tire off inspected the pads, calipers, disc and all looks good...the tired does not shake or rattle like it would with a wheel baring that is going bad. I am stumped and don't know what to make of the noise...any ideas would be very helpful.
Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Driver side front wheel squealing

Raise it up and spin the wheels, see if the noise is present so you can hunt for it?

Rocks, splash shield/backing plate, brake pad shims and clips, etc....

Re: Driver side front wheel squealing

Did you actually remove the inboard brake pad to see if the pad thickness was near the squeal indicator? If you just take a glance, it can look passable.

Re: Driver side front wheel squealing

My 2008 Honda Fit had a similar problem. I thought my tire was going flat on the highway, but all 4 were fine. Car had over 100k miles. Turns out to be a stuck caliper. Brake was humming and rumbling. Worse as rotor got hot. I had my brake fluid flushed out (first time) and all linkages and moving parts cleaned and properly lubed. Problem all gone! The car stops better than when it was new.
