I have a 2010 Civic and received a letter from Honda Canada about the premature break pad wear. The letter talks about the class action in the USA, but takes no responsibility and claims there isn't a problem, but offers to pay for some of the repair if you have had to have your brakes done prematurely by filling out a detailed form and Honda reviewing each on an individual basis.

Obviously there is still a problem here!

What is the actual problem here? Is there a design flaw with the calipers? Is there upgraded re designed parts that will prevent this problem from occurring again? Honda isn't going to share this kind of information or what it knows for obvious reasons. So how can we address this, and fix this?

Got the letter as well in the states.

My pads lasted 75k miles.... so I'm content certainly.

I think they changed the composition of the pads.
