If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: TPMS is still lighted? Fixes?

Need to know more:
I assume everything was working properly BEFORE work was done?

New wheels?
Did the original sensors get installed into the new wheels?
Did the new wheels come with new sensors?
Are there sensors in the new wheels, or just rubber valve stems?
Are there still sensors on your original wheels?

A new set of sensors would need to be programmed to the car. Dealer scanner is the only thing I know of that can do this.

General:

TPMS is lit up, or the low pressure icon (_!_)?

If TPMS is lit:
You need a scanner that can access the TPMS system on that particular car. No way around that. Dealer.

AND a tool that can read data and serial numbers from the individual pressure sensors.

If you paid a shop to replace the tires or rims, they could have easily damaged a sensor.
They owe you a fixed and correctly working TPMS system, period. End of story.
The TPMS system is a government mandated safety system.
A shop that has good business ethics WILL cover the costs for repairs.
If they won't, then you should know what sort of place you are dealing with.

Also, this stuff could depend entirely on the answers to the first few lines above.

I got new sensors with the new wheels, no probs before the new wheels and sensors were added. Just the TPMS is lit, no low pressure icon.

Looks like im gonna have to go to the dealer....

Re: TPMS is still lighted? Fixes?

New sensors MUST be registered to the car using the scanner.
Looks like a dealer visit is in your future.

Should have swapped the original sensors to the new wheels (if possible), but it's too late now.

If you swap the rims back later on (summer/winter rims and tires?) the other set of sensors will need to be registered again.
The car only remembers 4 sensors at a time.

I have heard the aftermarket now has sensors that can be cloned with the original serial/ID#s, so they appear the same as the original sensors to the computers.
