If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Wow...that's a new one for me.

Before you replace it, read this article on B-CAN system causing drain on the battery:
PDF LINK (jeez it's a little blurry)

Aaand this one from an Accord forum about the same article:

Is there a way of fixing it or do I need to get another one? Would that reset my mileage and create a problem when I sell the car?
Thanks.
If you are really into electronics you could take it apart and look, but I can't offer any info on doing that.

Replacement procedure would be to use Hondas HDS scantool to extract odometer data from the old gauge unit (tach module), replace the unit, then use the same scantool to "write" the odometer data into the new unit.

I've never attempted to rewrite mileage into a used (junkyard) unit, so I'm not much help if you want to try that route.
