Cuise Control

I have a 2007 Honda Civic and for the last two months or so my cruise control button will not stay engaged so that I may use this function while driving! HELP! How can I fix this problem?

What do you mean? Like it stays on for a second or two? Or does it stay on for a few miles? Or does it never turn on? Is it the button itself or do you think it's the computer?

Re: Cuise Control

I'd guess the main switch doesn't latch in the ON position anymore, but the OP wasn't clear on what the exact problem is.

It will not stay on at all! It will work IF I push the cruise button and hold it down manually to set it at the same time!

Are you saying, your Cruise (main) switch on the steering wheel is broken?

Re: Cuise Control

The cruise main not latching on is common on 8ths.(and other Hondas using the same switch)

Some have used super glue, others used a spacer and tape to hold it in.

I think some well placed super glue sounds best.

Re: Cuise Control

I found the easiest fix was to jam a small piece of a toothpick on the side of the button. There's another thread here with my photo of it. Certainly not going to pay to get replaced. Funny, my son has this car now and wondered about the toothpick, pulled it out and found out why😎
