Rep Power: 0 Another AC Problem. Too much Pressure
Hi New here. 2004 Honda Civic 4 cyl LX. AC runs mild till it gets hot and then blows warm. I thought I would put more refrigerant in but upon checking the pressure it was off the charts. So I let some out of the Low pressure side and brought it down to Specs. Does this work? It didnt feel cold coming out of the valve. Anyways...Tried jumping the wires on the Thermal protector and heard the fan go on. Did the Self Diagnosis and got nothing. Have a good AC light. Fuses are all good. Any ideas??? Thanks

Dandy. I guess Im wondering mainly is that a proper way to reduce the PSI in the AC sysytem? Obviously someone thought overfilling it would make it blow cold somehow. And when I was letting some of the pressure off it was warm as air, not cold like refrigerant.

I just didnt think it was rocket science. Now I am finding out about environmental concerns releasing it into the atmosphere and such. Getting a little paranoid about it. I usually dont let folks work on my cars. I have owned everything from VW to BMW This is my first Honda and I rarely care about AC...but this is my wifes and she needs it...Now if I dont fix it how am I going to learn? So I am picking up te manual after work today
