blower problem

2006 Honda Civic. the blower won't switch from the top vents to the window defroster or the lower vents. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: blower problem

Start with HVAC self diagnosis test

Note: The first half of that article is correct, but clearing codes is not right for this car. If the problem is corrected, the code is supposed to automatically disappear.

If it shows any codes, then begin there.

------------------

If no codes, I might check under the dash to see if the actuator (servo) is trying to work, maybe the linkage is jammed. Hope nobody dropped items (Toys? Crayons?) into any of the vents....I can see how that could jam up mode doors inside the HVAC box.
