P0849 transmission fluid pressure sensor /switch B circuit intermittent

Hi All,

I got the following code on my car. Does anyone know how do i get this fixed.

My car is a 2008 honda civic coupe automatic transmission (non si)

I was driving and all of a sudden at a red light i felt the car shift down. And there is a jerk from 1st to second gear. But when i turn the car off and back on it works fine.

Thank you in advance

Re: P0849 transmission fluid pressure sensor /switch B circuit intermittent

I don't show a P0849 in my code list.

Got P0842, 843, 847, 848, but no P0849.

when i turn the car off and back on it works fine.
Usually if it clears up and drives normally, it probably was a trans pressure switch that got stuck on or off briefly.
If that's the case, I'd replace the affected pressure switch with new from a dealership.

There is more than one, so make sure you pick the correct one.

Switch B is also called the '3rd clutch pressure switch' in my info. I think it's on the front side of the trans, uses a black/red wire.

Hi ezone.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to look at the one of old posts in this forms. Is this the location for the pressure switch ? You also mentioned there are more, do you know the location for the second switch ?

Thank you

Oh good you found the other post that had the pics.

This is very close to the pic in the service manual (or IS from a service manual)

The switch for 2nd gear is on the back of the trans approximately below the brake reservoir.
