Re: bad input shaft bearing bad?

How loud is it?

Bring the revs up to 2000 in neutral and push the clutch in and out. If the noise stops when you press on the clutch it's the input shaft bearing. Helps to be in a garage or next to a wall w/the windows down.

My 2005 has been making a noise like yours in 1st and 2nd, kinda in 3rd for 10,000 miles now. Not very noticeable but it's there. I just heard the noise tonight on a cold start at idle...I'd push in the clutch and it'd quit so it's the ISB for sure. I can't hear it under 1k rpms.
