What is a good yr/model civic that has the potential in becoming a fast car. I wanna buy something in between 1999-2003. I was thinking of getting an EX coupe, but i don't know of which model is right for me! Any help or suggestions would b great. Thanks!!!

stick with 99-2000 they are better built, if you can find one go with the SI coupe that has a B18 engine and 140 whp to start. otherwise EX isnt too bad either.

Ok thats even better. Those cars go for pretty cheap around here. How hard is it to find an SI coupe???

very hard, and its the most stolen civic, so you really have to keep an eye on it all the time.

i thought 99-00 SI came with a B16A2

Most stolen? Well thats good to know lol. Uhm how much horsepower does the EX have? Would i have to get an engine swap for it to have potential?

my bad yeah i think its B16 engine for the SI. The SI has around 140 whp stock, the ex is more like 100 whp. the SI engine has tons of potential and there are alot of parts out for it, the ex engine (i think d16?) is much harder to get power out of and youre better off just getting a few mods like intake and exhaust and call it a day.

Alright thank you. Well i'll do my best to find the SI to save me a lot of money in the future. If i HAVE to get the EX i can always do an engine swap correct? I have heard of a K-Swap or something like that. How much does the new engine usually cost and how much does labor cost?

if you dont have hookups, a kswap usually runs around $10k for parts and labor. if you know someone, maybe $5k.
