Hey guys, well i have had a 96 ex (manual) for awhile, and it has a blown engine. I was wondering what all engines could work as a replacement. I already know that the stock is a D16Y8, but they are hard to come by where im at, and there are zero on eBay. Im willing to spend about $650, give or take a few, and was wondering what kind of engine i could throw in it and maybe where i could find one. So all help is greatly appreciated!!!

i might have just the thing for you. i have a y8 with a couple of extras. it has an AEM cold air intake, a cam in it with an AEM camgear, AEM tru time pulleys, headers, and a superchip on the ecu. i will sell the whole engine and trans with ecu and wire harness for 1,200. i bought the whole car wrecked pretty bad for 2k. and i will throw in the lowering springs and struts for free. the engine only has 91,000 miles on it.it runs like a charm no problems. i made sure of that before i bought the car. the only reason im not keeping it is because it would take to much to put in my car. it came out of a 96 ex coupe. i will also give you the radiator, and anything else that you might need if i have it. oh and i have a bad ass lexus trunk that came off of it( it has circle lights in the trunk), the trunk is red. i will give you everything for $1,200.
hey, PaintFreak, i just sent you a message a little bit ago, but ill just ask you through this. That sounds like an amazing deal, but i dont have that much cash. Does the tranny have to come with the engine? And maybe you could strip some parts to lower the price?
