Noob question regarding 99 Civic Factory Radio & Keyless Entry

Hi,
I just bought a '99 Civic EX coupe. It has the keyless entry, but it looks hooked into the factory radio. However, I want to put in my pioneer mp3 headunit....I heard you can maybe put the factory one at the bottom and still have it, or there is something called a Metra harness? Please help, as I have not dealt with Civic systems before. Thanks!

i thought the 99-00 civics did not have the problem of losing keyless with aftermarket deck?

not a noob question. i did the same on my 09 and apparently all civics have the same problem. has to do with the anti theft in the car. check the fuses under the hood.
