I got an 04 sedan too. I got my speakers done by bestbuy they did a good job, but they were a little pricey for the work.. anyways Heres a PDF you can download to show you how to get your doors and rear deck off.. http://pdftown.com/PDF-Honda-Civic-V...ce-Manual.html .. It has a lot of information.. Anyways its awesome and it's free, and I've used it to take of my rear deck and doors. It has almost everything you'd ever need for panel removal stuff.. well hope this helps.. as far as speakers and stuff I am not quite sure.. My car is almost everything sony, but i get a lot of flak for it from other member of my schools audio club.. but i like the quality they produce for me.. and i was on a tight budget at the time..lol well good luck! let me know if you have questions on the PDF thing.. OH u need a password to download.. its pdftown.com.. its right under the download link.

Re: 04civicLX sedan. DIY aftermarket speakers.

its easy, the rear requires alot of parts to come off, but almost everything either pops off with clips or has screws. i have some 7 yrs old infinity reference speakers that are a bit torn around the rubber surrounds but they still sound great on a small amp.

Re: 04civicLX sedan. DIY aftermarket speakers.

I have a set of JL 2-way 6x9's in the back of my truck that sound absolutely amazing. My car just has some Pioneers, nothing too fancy. There's not a ton of depth back there to work with.

The installation itself isn't very complicated, it's just, as mentioned, a lot of panels to come off and takes some time to do it the first time.
