hard wire a radar detector

i was wondering what the best or easiest way to hardwire my radar detector is? i have a 98 civic hx and was thinking of running it through the head liner to the dome light because my dome light is burnt out or if there is a easy way to hard wire it to the battery To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

straight through the firewall underneath the driver side to the battery. Ground somewhere inside tho. That's how i hardwired mine. You should use automotive tape to protect the wire and just route it to the battery around areas that build up heat.

I made my cigarette lighter a constant power source (charge cell phones) and took the original power wire from there (turns on/off with key) and ran my radar detector cord off of that.
