So today my neighbor left and I have the house and the garae to myself. For some reason having a garage gives me a lot of motavation. So today I got back to it.

Finished up the trunk

Rerouted the wires from over the rear support to under it.

Put dyanmat were the rear seats are.

Took the realy thin peice of whatever and tracked it out and mad e replica in plywood.

Got a little bit of the front doors done have to get more dynamat tomrrow.

Started looking at how to run the speaker wires threw the gromit looks like it is not going to be that hard.

Re: Project Black Dragon

Okay taking a brake considering I can continue at anytime.
When you buy a used car and they say it has a aftermarket alarm you might want to look under your steering wheel to see how well it was installed. This is not my work!! This is what I found when I took my lower panel off. One of the many reasons I am installing the new alarm myself.

So I have been doing a lot I got the speaker wire ran threw the door probably was one of the easiest things I have done so far.

Removed the piggyback alarm system and am starting to wire the new wiring harness to the conections. "going to use the alarm I have now as a test"

The piggyback alarm

The wiring for this is PITA because I don't trust were the wires are coming from so I am veryfing them all. More pics tonight

Re: Project Black Dragon

Well got the car all put back together today the wiring harness I made worked perfectly with wire provided by fasfocus00. So it is all ready for the viper system that I will hopefully get in a few weeks. Luckily I got everything I wanted to get done. The weather finally broke from 4 or 5 days of rain and was a great day. So good in fact that my father and I went for a ride.

All the wires finally properly wired and ready to be hidden.

The new place for the brain safe place in the rear.

Also got the final pieces of silver trim on the dash today.

All put back together "for now"

Feel free to comment on my prgress. I hope to get some money soon to start ordering the stuff that I need and get it finally DONE.

Re: Project Black Dragon

nice. i'm curious to see the final install. you said you were getting an Alpine, but you show pics of a Pioneer. if you're sticking with the Pioneer, get the Sirius module for it so you don't have to have that appendage tape on the dash for sirius:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ellite/CD-SB10
i used to have a Roady XT for XM Radio. it was a pain having this extra thing sitting out. now, i have the XM version for my Pioneer. it uses the HU to control the XM. i like it much better.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ite/GEX-P920XM
i also have the iPod cable for mine and it controls my ipod through the head unit also.

Re: Project Black Dragon

Installed the head unit today went pretty well. Just to be safe I put hat shrink on each rca plug so it would not touch anything. For the comment above no I am not going to buy a thing for this head unit until I know I want it for right now I am still saying I will like the alpine better and will probably get it anyway.

can you tilt the screen at all? to help with glare? that's my biggest beef with 7th gens is the angle of the dash and glare. my wife's last several other cars did not have this problem.

Re: Project Black Dragon

Yes you can tilt the screen but then you run into the problem of the trim piece not allowing the deck to open for cd access... I cut around the bottom of the trim piece so i can have it tilted down a little bit and not get the glare. I still get the glare though, its unavoidable on these cars for some reason. Sorry... I don't mean to threadjack.

LOL ya that is nice but 2 things are wrong with them. One you can not go active with them and two I would probably crash playing around with that.
