Yellow Airbag/SRS connector/wire under seats - how to disconnect?

Probably a stupid question, and did some searching on here to no avail. This thread says something about it being spring-loaded:

Complete DIY write up on aftermarket steering wheel installation

Anyway, I cannot see an obvious way of disconnecting it (like the gray seat belt connector next to it) and was wondering if anyone could help.

Thank you...

That center widest part is the key. Pretty sure you pull up, but might need to push down - can't remember exactly.

Re: Yellow Airbag/SRS connector/wire under seats - how to disconnect?

Crap, I didn't even know that moved. I thought that was just part of the overall fixed female end of the connector. It is spring-loaded, I guess.

You are right - just pull that forward and the male end just pops out. I've updated the picture and circled that to clarify things.

Also, I don't think it's necessary to disconnect ground -- just don't put the key in the ignition while it's disconnected or else you'll have to reset SRS (paper clips/key in ignition sequence), I believe.

Thanks...

ya those clips are a bit backwards in how they disconnect. and battery can stay connected in almost all cases, thats just a precaution.
