Head unit options for exact lighting match?

Okay, after carrying around the same Pioneer head unit across three different vehicles, I am wanting to swap out for a new one. My OCD is getting the better of me on the selection process though, and I am looking for a head unit that has the same color lighting as the factory red/amber/whatever-the hell-we-are-calling-it that is in my '02 Civic LX. I was looking at an Alpine unit (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500CDE1...CDE102&tp=5684). I'm not a big audiophile, so I just need something with the basics. Is it easier just to swap the gauge colors to match the head unit or are there head units with the same color backlighting? Eventually this will be a total interior overhaul, and I will be looking for a few gauges to fill a 2/3 slot pod mounted to my drivers pillar as well. Ultimately what I am looking for is a crisp, clean look across the whole dash, so color consistency is a big thing for me. To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: Head unit options for exact lighting match?

Don't know if this will help much, but I have an Alpine CDA-9885 (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5dIo3VE...tml?tab=review) in my 02 Civic LX. The red back lighting is blood red and doesn't match the amber of the dash lights...makes them look orange. I don't pay much attention to it since it sounds so good...its a close enough match for me. You're probably better off changing the dash lighting to match whatever receiver you get.

cda 9847 is one of the few alpines that have red AND amber illumination. basically its almost orange and the closest match you will get to stock. only a few decks came with that color change ability. the new ones all have pure red leds which wont match.

Eclipse Cd5030. Will compete with any alpine cd player(including the 9887), has both red and blue color illuminations(red matches my 02 ex dash), and lots of tuning options for a 300 dollar headunit!!!
