Shift lock solenoid

Well guys today ripped out the carpet in my civic..soaked..i think my heater core has a leak..no biggy....probably gonna bedliner the interior..someday..well lately i have had to use my key to put it in gear..well got to readin my shop manual...lol..yeah i read it actually...seems like the shift lock solenoid..has anyone else had a problem..and where can i get a new one..thanks all help will be greatly appreciated To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Make sure your brake lights are operating. The circuit actuates the interlock.

break lights work fine..

If the solenoid is getting voltage... It may be the defective.

Was it working before the carpet removal ??

Can you here a click or feel anything (touching solenoid) while in park and stepping on the brake pedal ??

no it wasnt working before the carpet removal..my sisters boyfriend was using it and it quit working..i just need to know where to get one at
