Horn Circuit

I have a 2000 EX - gets me from A to B 40 miles 1 way 5 days/week. 135K miles on it and the oddest things have gone out along the way. Latest: the horn stopped working.

I think I found the horn - mounted on the outside of the radiator of all places. The small grill is screwed to the plastic under-bumper from the inside, so it looks like the hole thing has to come off.

Can anyone tell me what else is in that circuit or what might go bad and where it is? Its difficult to tell where the wiring harness goes and what's in that path, but I'd hate to try to swap out the horn if my problem is really a relay....

Any ideas?

thanks

Listen and feel the horn relay while trying the horn button. If quiet enough you can hear it click, If you touch the horn relay you should also feel the clicking.

I noticed on my 05 that many of the relays all have the same part # on them. You could swap the horn relay and 1 other with the same # as a quick test.

I ran into the same problem over the weekend. Take the bumper off, find the horn- mine is mounted on the drivers side, under the headlight, on a verticle metal beam- think its the radiator support, cant remember exactly. Anyways, I unscrewed it, look a look at it- disconnected it, pressed the horn a few times, reconnected it, disconnected battery for ten minutes, re-connected battery, started up the car, and pressed it- worked!

Hope it works for ya buddy.
