Hey guys, starting a little while ago, my left left headlight (low beam) would not always turn on when I started up the car, if I opened the hood and moved the wires around for it, then it came on and stayed on until the next time I started up the car and i would have to repeat this process everytime i started up the car. I took the car to Honda for warranty and they told me to put the stock bulbs back in...while I was changing the bulbs, I noticed that the plugs were brown and looked burnt, as well as one of the contacts on the bulb were turned brown (corrosion/burning?)...anyways, I just installed my stock bulbs for now and will see if I get the same problem....I have Luminics Pure Blue Krypton Series bulbs, I was told that I wouldn't need any wire harness for them....Are these bulbs burning my wires?? If yes, what are my options besides buying a wire harness? Thanks!

If you are moving the wires near the bulbs connector... It is most likely the connector causing the problem. If problem returns, use a single chop stick or a wood dowel and GENTLY touch the connector at the bulb and look for change.
What year ? the stock bulbs are 55W/65W (or close)
My car is a 2005 Civic SI (non-hatchback, canadian model)...When I touch the connector on the bulb, what kinda change am I looking for? By the way, once i start up the car and move the wires/plug a little bit the bulb turn on and stays on until the next time i turn the car off and start it up again.
tried removing that plug and cleaning out both male and female ends of it? I had that happened on my after market lamps and I just cleaned it out and taped it clean to the plug itself.
9005 (I also have installed, but bearly use and no problems...yet):
Acutal Wattage: 12v 65w
Projected Wattage: 140w
So I removed my (luminics) bulbs, cleaned up the contacts and reinstalled them (on the opposite sides as before), and drove for about 15-20 minutes, then I started to smell a burning smell as I arrived at my destination...didn't really look into it cuz i didn't have time, but once I got home i removed the (luminics) bulbs and noticed that the plug on my left low beam bulb had melted...the bulb was still working, but it was burning the plug....i put in stock bulbs and will see how well they work during the day tomrow...
It sounds like the socket is damaged. The test I described will work best if the bulb is in the off condition to start... then look for a change. ( it may not work BTW )
The resistance of the poor connection results in heat when current is drawn. The wattages you listed appear to be standard values. 55w/65w
