Sound System Opinions

So i recently just purchased a few things for my audio system. I know my basics about wiring, and power, etc. But i'd like some more 'professional' opinions.

I purchased
Infinity Perfect Kappa 10.1 Subwoofers x 2
Panasonic CQC8313 Head Unit
Sony Xplod D9001GTR Amplifier (I haven't purchased yet, but the one I'm considering.)
What do you think about that?

The amp is where I'm having troubles, I don't know what amp to get. The Sony one seems good, but from what I know about Sony, it probably isn't. Just wondering what you would recommend for an amplifier, or if you would even recommend that Xplod.

Now, for the wiring I plan to wire the subs in a parallel circuit if i get a mono amp. I think that should work, to reduce my output from the amp, but have the same output in both subs?

Anyways, you know more than me most likely, so any recommendations are welcome. Keep in mind I'm not made of money.

Thanks.

Go with a custom fiberglass ALPINE system. Sony no good, and RF is old school.

I love it when my amp Xplods!

You're on the right track with a mono amplifier.

RF, Alpine, Infinity are all plenty good.

So I'm looking for a Mono Amp with around or over 350Watts RMS?

What about these?:
Alpine MRP-M450
MTS TC4001
RF P325.1

Those are all great choices.

I've only installed the Alpine one but I'm a fan of it. Real small footprint and great power for the size.

i have the same head unit! but i would go with the pioneer, i have this with two sony 12"s and it hits very hard and is very easy, doesnt get real hot and easy to make sound good with some"tuning"
Buy the Pioneer 800W Mono-Channel Amplifier (GM7200M) and other Car Amplifiers at circuitcity.com

I may go for the alpine then, since it's cheapest and seems pretty good.

Now, as for my subs, I believe i read somewhere that my subs run at 2ohms when paralleled/bridged together. Right or Wrong? I really hope they're two ohms. ;(

Also, what about dynamat, should I see if I need it first, before installing it all?

Thanks a lot.

turns out my subs are 4ohms, the 10.1D's are 2 or 8 ohms, depending how you set them up.

So now i need an amp that puts out 350 at 4 ohms? Or is the Alpine amp in my previous post still sufficient (220 at 4ohms, 400 at 2). If not I may get the Alpine MRP650, puts out 400 at 4, and 600 at 2.

You're good. The two subs in parallel are one two ohm load. That amp is I think you stated 400watts @ two ohms. That's a decent enough amount of power for most.

Alright, so my system is all set.

Now, question about wirings. I get all my wiring for free, just I have a few questions.

How do i figure out what the diameter of my ring terminals should be? Aswell, the guy i know who's installing it at his shop, says to get 4gauge power and ground wire, yet my amp says 8gauge is recommended? Or maybe I'm talking shit, but i think i read that somewhere.

8AWG is fine with this amp, being a mono it's more efficient than a normal 2-channel. Also, 8 gauge spades will fit into the terminals perfectly. Four gauge wouldn't hurt at all but it's going to be trickier to get a terminal to attach to it and the amp.

I might do 4 or 8, we'll see what happens.

But, are the mounting kits sold at crappy tire (Canadian Tire) any good? Or are they cheap? Picture. Are they all basically the same quality..or..?
