97 Civic EX 2 Door: Deck Cuts Off

Hi.

I recently installed a new deck.

When I turn up the bass too much, my deck cuts off.

My brobro told me its because of faulty wiring and he suggests grounding my deck to a metal or something.

I have no idea what he meant by that.

Suggestions?

I'd like to add my side speakers had 2 positive wires and 2 negative wires and I just butt connected the two sets to the one +/- terminals on the side speakers. Problem?

deck expects 8 ohms on the speakers , but you have 4 ohms (or 2-3 ohm total per side since you have tweets in parallel) speakers?

My deck and speakers came in a set. Would this information be in the manual? I'll take a look and will get right back to you.

"Cuts off" could mean different things to different people. What exactly happens?

Voltage drop check the powers and ground at the radio to prove if there's an issue there.

The deck turns off when I turn it up too high and the bass hits.

I don't have a voltimeter, I'll just keep the volume low for now :P

Thanks ezone
