Hey guys I'm new to this but I was relocated my mom's battery from her 2002 Ford Explorer to the trunk and for some strange reason my ground wire it's getting really warm and I'm using the same negative battery terminal that was original with my car. Should I get a thicker gauge wire it is it something else? Any suggestions or opionions on what I should do?
And I have a 1995 Civic DX by the way

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Relocated battery
How hot, and under what conditions?
If it gets much hotter than the pos cable thats not good IMO.
If one end or the other gets hot that's a bad connection that needs fixed.
If the entire cable gets hot then it needs to be heavier, go down a gauge size or two.

You can't use the same gauge wires if you move the battery from the front to the back. The farther current has to travel the thicker wire you need. I would put it back.
