Exclamation Clunk/Knock When applying brake after reversing? Help!

Hi for the last couple of months my 2001 honda civic, makes a clunk/Knock like noise, it only happens after you reverse and then pull forward and apply the brake.

The clunk only happens once and its usually only after the car has been sitting for a while, applying any type of braking pressure (light or heavy) seems to trigger it. The sound is originating from the rear brakes, I've pulled off the wheel to take a look, but I did not see anything out of the ordinary.

I don't know if this is related, since this sound showed up I also hear a rear brake "squeak" every time I release the brake.

Thank you for your help!

Re: Clunk/Knock When applying brake after reversing? Help!

its normal, just the calipers and abs doing their adjustment. rear brake squeak is unrelated and very common, usually they just need to be lubed.

I have the same issue and I'm glad to hear it's normal because I have just replaced my entire brake system a few months ago.
