Right now guy's I have 185/65/R15 on my 2003 Honda Civic SI and since winter is approaching I would like to put winter tires on should I stick to the size I have or would it be better to go to something like 195/60/R15.. Thanks for your help :-)

Re: Tire Size

I think you will get pretty decent grip with either of those two sizes as long as you've got good treads. It's really when you start stepping up to plus sizes and go low profile performance tires that you will have a decline in grip in the snow. For example, I'm running 215/45/17's on my 04 lx coupe right now, but when the snow hits I'll put my stock steel wheels with 195/60/15's back on for better traction.

Not that this really pertains to your question, but here is a nice tool to use when looking into which tires to buy. Hopefully you will find it as helpful as I do.

Re: Tire Size

Sure, probably throw off the speedometer a bit more. It would show slower then you are really going the bigger the tire you get.

Re: Tire Size

Usually people go with skinnier tires in the snow so it cuts through it instead of riding on top of it.
