i see where your going with this, yes it may seam the colder the air the more power you have but remember hot air is thicker than cold you need some heat other wise you would be running more fuel than air aka "rich" so unless you have about a million bucks burning a hole in your pocket for R&D i would leave it be.

Re: Really stupid intake idea...

well lets see you lose 15-20 hp with the ac on, but with the colder air coming to the intake you gain 1-2hp? yeah it doesnt work.

Re: Really stupid intake idea...

I HIGHLY doubt the AC will flow enough air to feed the engine.

He might as well out the intake inside the car..

15-20 hp loss with the AC on? Come on Steve, you know better than that. The compressor is a magnetic clutch and has very little drag.

Re: Really stupid intake idea...

I know a guy that rigged his ac compressor on his chevy 1500 for air tools. thought that was pretty cool. As far as for cai reasons, it's a horrible idea. There was once a product you could buy that would spray co2 in your intake that supposedly cooled it but that flopped too.

Re: Really stupid intake idea...

if you had a car that has a separate electric motor for the ac i bet you might have some luck (like subaru)

OK... so, I know a lot of ppl in my science class loved to skip- maybe you were one of them. COLD air is DENSER then HOT air. Period.
Example- if you fill a balloon up at room temp, the bring it out in the sun- the air will EXPAND and maybe even pop the balloon. If you put the balloon in the freezer, it'll shrivel up.
