Wink Ebay Intakes?

How reliable are these things? Will the SI models fit an LX? Will a 6th gen or 8th gen fit a 7th gen?

I realize the latter 2 questions are just general intake questions

I was thinking about getting a noname tube and throwing a K&N filter on it.

Re: Ebay Intakes?

Buying an ebay one and putting a K&n filter would be just as good as any other intake..but why not get the one for ur car?

Re: Ebay Intakes?

better make it aem dryflow filter if you like your engine. otherwise ebay intake is okay, just get the right one for your year.

Re: Ebay Intakes?

i prefer almost anything over K&N. low 92% filtration and liquid oil that gets sucked thru all the intake parts isnt for me.

Re: Ebay Intakes?

its all (false) advertising. their filters are terrible and cause all sorts of problems including engine damage. nowhere near meeting oem filtration standards of 98% and many car companies will now deny warranty if you have K&N filter. its a race filter plain and simple. not suitable for a daily driven street car by any means.

AEM did the right thing and dumped their entire stock of inferior cotton gauze filters and are now only using synthetic paper dryflow filters which are still reusable. they filter 99% or more of particles.

oh and companies like weapon-r are using oiled foam filter which is superior to K&N in every way. flows a ton more air and filters nearly 100% of particles. the SW1 filter flows more air than an open pipe without a filter. it uses a special tacky oil that works well and doesnt get all over the place.

Re: Ebay Intakes?

How does the SW1 filter flow more than an open pipe wouldn't any filter cut down on the flow? Just asking you probably know more about it than I do lol. Who makes that filter ,too? Would it work the same on a forced induction setup?

I would guess that it would take in more air with an open pipe with no filter but your engine would intake a lot of dust and debris and thats no good for your engine.
