Re: Need Some Opinions

Just got done doing a lil research and it seems that Greddy's E-Manage could be the best for the money. What do yall think about it? Has anyone here used it?

Re: Need Some Opinions

um gonna have to do alot better lol. i wouldnt even bother unless you have AEM EMS or hondata if they make a programmable ecu for your car. just throwing on a turbo kit is gonna cause huge problems for you all the time. i think for a 99si, you would be better off getting a supercharger kit made for the car, and the vortech aftercooler if you need even more power. plenty of guys make around 225whp with that setup.

Re: Need Some Opinions

I would like to stay away from superchargers as they use power to make power costing me more fuel to make the same power a turbo would. I only plan on running around 7 psi with stock internals. You said just bolting on a turbo kit will cause me problems, what kinds of problems are you refering to? As for the ecu I am trying to stay under 2 grand so the aem ems is out along with any stand alone. I live in a small country town and I don't think we really have any tuners around here , but I haven't looked very hard, so I will probably end up doing a lot of the tuning my self.

Re: Need Some Opinions

your main problems will come if the engine is not tuned properly under boost. using any type of piggyback fuel controler is asking for trouble. even properly tuned, they suck. if youre gonna do that i suggest holding off until you can afford a real tunable ecu. and you need a good tuning shop with a dyno.

Re: Need Some Opinions

Ok, I've been doing some research on the ecu issue. Could i get a p28 ecu and an obd conversion harness and put a hondata s300 in it? Is the p28 w/ obd conversion just as simple as changing the ecu, doesn't seem like it would be?
