Question about removing turbo pipes from turbo...

I'm slowly returning my car to stock in preparation to sell. I'm ready to install the stock resonator/air box, but don't yet have the stock exhaust manifold/oil pan. What I want to know is, can I remove only the intake pipes from the turbo to reinstall my stock air intake? (pipes highlighted in red) I'm referring only to the air filter pipe leading into the turbo, and the 3 pipes leading to the throttle body. This would give me the room necessary to install the stock intake. I can't think of any possible damage that would be done by having the turbine simply blow air out into the atmosphere, unless it contains exhaust gases, but I may be overlooking something. Are the exhaust gases contained strictly to the downpipe? I also know to put a simple filter covering over the intake hole so no rocks or anything get into the turbine and damage it. Advice/comments anyone?

I wouldn't do it for any extended period. You risk overspooling the turbo with no resistance against it....

Is that an sfp manifold?

thanks for the reply... it's a stafford fabrications kit (one of the few who actually got theirs)

what is meant by overspooling? would this do damage to the bearings? also for a while now I've been running the turbo without the wastegate actuator rod attached so I won't build up any boost. is that anything different?

I've read about it, never seen it happen. Basically, the theory is, the more rpm and load the engine sees, the harder the turbo works. If there's no resistance against it, it just freespins. So yeah, if it's dumping and creating no boost, I would say it's about the same thing.
