Re: Need Help!!!

for a 97 the easiest and cheapest swap would be a b series swap. you can find a complete swap for around $1500-2500 with tranny mounts an all. of course this depends on what type of b series you want. a b16 or b18c would be the best choices. but what are your plans. N/A or forced induction. how much power do you want to make and waht will the car be used for. and last but not least how much do you want to spend??

Re: Need Help!!!

1997 Civic...which engine is in there currently? With as much support that's out there for the D16s, the buttload of parts available and the fact that they're relatively cheap - I would build the shit out of the motor. You'd probably be happier and have more power at the end of your build and have spent the same amount of money as a B-series swap. That generation Civic has an awful lot of potential.

Between this forum and d-series.org, all the information and support you need is at your fingertips. Just use the search tool first and browse around. More than likely someone has already asked the question you are thinking of, and folks have already answered it. Saves time and allows you to avoid the "Pshaw!! Noob! You suck, you're a ricer, your car is stupid, and no one likes you!" kind of responses some people like to give.

Re: Need Help!!!

i would swap the engine with an si- there should'nt be any problems, few part changings - changing the ecu would help performance and is cheap

Always an option, absolutely. I'm just partial to the underdog SOHC's.

of course, but a better platform to work with is a b series always. more bang for your buck especially with a b20. a b20 can run you about $500. then misc stuff will put you around $1k. this is a high 13 sec./low 14 sec. car all day with a good set of tires. with a few mods(vtec head) it will put you deep in the 13's
