Angry Problem with injectors Info needed???

I am boosting my D17A1 non Vtec.. Ok i heard that these motors are leaning out on 3 psi.. Is this true even though i have an Apexi SAFC to control the fuel... Next I bought injectors RC 440cc injectors.. the problem is that the injectors are twice the size of the stock in height and i cant put on my fuel rail its rubs on my TPS sensor... So how do i fix this problem.. Can i use the injectors off of the Honda Turbo wave runnner.. Or does anyone know of an intake manifold off of a later model civic engine.. Please help me out.. Thanks much Matt To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: Problem with injectors Info needed???

rsx type s injectors. it clips right in. 310cc is all you need for a d17 boost app unless your planning to make over 225-250 whp i think. just get the rsx-s injectors and you will be fine!

225-250? on 310s? Ha... you'll get between 170 and 190 out of them. Next step up that probably fits is RDX 410s, but you'll need something more than an emanage to get the car to idle with them.

Re: Problem with injectors Info needed???

If you're not comfortable with rsx injectors the next step is SRT-4 injectors which are close to the size as RSX and should fit between the TB and fuel rail. Those are rated at 577cc if I'm not mistaken. I've also heard 527cc, but you'll need a superior fuel management system to run them on your car w/o issues.

True, unless you are able to bump up the fuel pressure a tad. Some have also done the injector mod that increases the flow of the stock rsx injector.

To OP, 3-4 psi on stock system = maxed out. You shouldn't be running boost on stock fuel system period. The SAFC/VAFC is garbage for boosted setups, emanage or equivalent & rsx injectors are minimum hardware required.

For injectors hitting the TB, design some kind of leak proof spacer thing or go custom intake manifold.

Re: Problem with injectors Info needed???

Ok, I feel like I'm in a grey area here, let's say that my power goal is exactly 200 horsepower. Will the RSX injectors sustain that? What are people using for more then that?

Would it be better just to buy something else?

It looks to me like they'll fit just fine. Or at least the Precision 440s will...

Re: Problem with injectors Info needed???

Yes it has been achieved, but its not safe since they are at the limit of maxing out at that point. As a reference talk to Abmerop. He was running 10-12 pounds of boost I think and made about 220whp on RSX type S injectors but ya he said he was close to maxxing out the injectors.
