intercooler piping

no. and in all honesty, find a local welding shop take the car and have it fabbed up so it actually fits.

before i built my motor iwas running a t-25 bb and it was a good starter kit.It spooled up at about 2700 rpm and you hit full boost by 4000 rpm. depending on the power you want to make and what mods you have done to your car is relativly the desicion making for the turbo you want to go with. kep in mind that a bigger turbo takes more power to spool up than a smaller one. with a 1.7 motor which is a pretty small block sure will have to work some hard ponys to perform a big turbine.

assuming your not running stupid amounts of boost, fab it up yourself and save money like i did

you can get a generic aluminum piping kit that comes with couplers and clamps and go to town cutting your bends to fit

be sure that after the test fit you clean up the edges of the piping and blow it off with some compressed air before doing the final install to make sure its clean

also make sure that its a vinyl-rubber coupler and not just the cheap rubber ones

vinyl rubber? Um... use reinforced silicone.

just avoid the straight rubber ones

Question on the aluminum piping though. What are you doing for the BOV flange mounting point? Is it an inline flange piece or did you get someone to weld it to the aluminum piping? For this reason, I figured I would go with SS to accomodate where i wanted to put the BOV.

Thoughts?

Every self respecting company that makes a BOV also offers the flange for it in aluminum, stainless and sometimes mild steel.
If you dont feel like frigging around with it, then get a 'T' coupler and a VW style BOV like I did.

Right, what I meant was the 'T' coupler, when I said 'inline flange'. I've seen a couple, and just wondered what folks were doing. I don't have access to the equipment to weld aluminum currently, and since I'm starting my turbo build, I want to do everything right the first time around. I might just pony up the extra $100 for SS piping and weld the flange on there right when I weld all my IC piping up.

By the way, why do you have the outlet of your BOV running down to the left of your engine? Where is it going to?

Its a recirc hose... dumps it back into the inlet before the turbo. Its quieter, and allegedly helps keep the turbo spooled... most importantly though, it keeps shit from getting stuck in the BOV since the whole thing is behind the filter.
Not sure where you're getting aluminum from, but aluminum is a good 40% more expensive than stainless.

Really? I look at all those Ebay IC pipe kits and the aluminum ones are like $100 and to get the same in stainless its close to $200. I mean, I am talking Ebay here, but still.

i had mine tigged on as it came with an aluminum flange

i only used the aluminum piping for the 'cold side' and made my downpipe out of SS
