I recently purchased a 92 civic hatch, with a b18 b1 engine, and a b16 tranny.
i have no clue what kind of turbo to go with, i dont know much about cars, im just really getting into them. i think greddy is the best kind... atleast thats what i was told.
Anyone have a 92 hatch b18 b1 that has a turbo... any suggestions?
thanks.

You'll get some replies on that topic over at www.ClubEG6.com definitely. Theres a few turbo hatchback members now. Keep in mind the site is really new still.
uh greddy is ok....really most their kits for civics are for DECENT power...if you looking to make 300whp or more than id say look else where...i know some might say oh thats more than enough but why would you wanna purchase a kit that can easily be maxed out in potential so i say go for a setup that wont so easily be maxed out by the components...plus im just not a fan of their emangage system...the e ultimate is alright but neptune(this is what im looking at), hondata, crome(the software is free just download) and AEM(aem is most expensive)....
from all the diff. companies Full Race is by far the best IMO....what REALLY sets them apart is their manifolds which with any dyno ive seen comparing their manifold to other companies ALWAYS makes more power...but this can very depending on application..here is a site you can look at various applications... Turbo-Kits.com 88, 91, 92, 95, 96, 00, 01, 02 Honda Civic, LX, EX, SI, Hatchback Turbo Kits
rev hard and turbonetics are good kits as well...im just not a fan of log style manifolds...they usually will allow the turbo to spool faster and in most cases result in better torque but limit OVERALL hp and thus performance
do not buy a kit from turbo-kits.com very bad products all cheaply made buy a kit from nopi.com or greddy ,greddy turbo kits are great you can get alot of power and you can always upgrade there kits to get even more power

i have to disagree...if you say greddy is good but turbokits.com sells crap why do they have greddy kits.....turbokits.com offers some of the industries TOP turbo kits for great prices...they buy from the company and sell there product they have NOTHING to do with the quality.....
as far as getting ALOT of power from a greddy kit...i have yet to see a greddy kit for civics that makes more than 75whp gain over stock and thats with more boost and better tunning...(they usually claim 50-55hp gain over stock which is pitiful for a turbo kit) Greddy - Founded and Driven by Racers
why the components they include limit the power...mostly the injectors...on their site the biggest they offer for a honda kit is 440cc...that right there is a automatice hinderance to the amount of power....second their turobs are small and although offer good spool sacrifce top end power and max hp...and greddy doesnt even offer a turbo upgrade kit for hondas cuz they dont come turbo charged from the factory..there bolt on kits...sure you could buy a bigger turbo and injectors and so on later but why spend money twice and in the end spend more money on parts, labor and tunning..do it right the first time..also another up and coming company is Peakboost...dont just take my word research products go to other forums and ask around......
PS 92lx im not trying to make you look bad or bust you just trying to keep things factual...greddy makes great products but their honda turbo kits are for "fun" not significant hp/tq gains
the problem is they dont release that as a kit because what's the point of a bolt on turbo kit that you have to replace your internals in order to get it to work on your car safely? generally if you're gonna replace the internals, you already know enough about cars to piece together your own kit.. which is by far the best route imho

Every Year Greddy Builds A Turbo Civic And I Have Yet To See When Under 300whp That They Have Built. Greddy Is Amazing As Far As Im Concerned.
im not talking about the quality or work but their BOLT ON KITS are not gonna accomplish what they do on their cars in the form they come in from them...they almost always use one of their kits as a BASE but they do alot more tweaking (bigger injectors, diff. wastegate, etc.) and tunning and have YET to see one of their cars only running the 6-8psi their kits come set at in their kits....like i said greddy makes AWESOME parts but most of there BOLT ON turbo kits are pitiful in the form they come in from greddy but obviously have more potential when you invest MORE time and money......so i guess all im saying is find a kit with more "leg room".....my very first recommendation is READ READ and READ some more...information...ACCURATE info is your friend and in the end you will be happy you didnt just jump into anything

ok again you need to read up. you dont need to replace internals at 300hp. you really dont know what your talking about yet you insist on giving advice, why?? do you want to cost people money or do you just think you know it all?? for god sakes dont give any more advice. and if you insist on posting please ask questions instead of posting useless WRONG info!!!!!!!!!!!
