Rear arm pivot nut came loose - suggestions to take it out
Nut weld came loose and can't get the bolt out...
There's no space for vise because of the strange metal around it (why is it there anyway?)
Was thinking on welding it back using a spot weld. Can't even cut it out because of a (Eibach?) brace does not give clearance for a saw and heating the nut did not help much...
Love Honda engineers, but sometimes I feel like killing some of them...

No, the nut is supposed to be welded in there, circled by these strange stuff. It does not have a HEX, it's simply a smooth round nut with threads... Hate, hate, hate honda engineers!
I was supposed to be on the AutoX today...

Yeah, they were the ones that left the marks. sniff.
I might ask my friend to lend his pitbull, but i don't think the head will fit in this tight space...

Oh, well, will try to fight some more and come back later to give results or else for more options... At least for now, I could force the bolt back to tighten, so it can run for now.

Tried both, actually. both will be straight in the direction of the bolt, so can't get torque enough to take the bolt off (last portion might be stripped...)
Ah, tried using an electrical impact wrench (which helped me tighten back the suspension wile I think what to do), but could not take it out becuase vise will come loose.
Re: Rear arm pivot nut came loose - suggestions to take it out
BTW, silver25civic, if you area a Honda suspension engineer, don't mind what i said! But if you really are, please use a hex nut welded there!
That way, even if it cames loose, I can still use a normal wrench!
Re: Rear arm pivot nut came loose - suggestions to take it out
nothing like a bigger vise - found a bigger neddle type and was able to take it out. Nut have 3 protruded parts under the nut which fits on similar slots in the suspension (welds?). Anyway, time for a spin and count the number of bolts that will fall in the way.
Thanks for the help silver25civic

See the lovely fella here
But now all is well, after the new vise grip
Car drives well beyond the limits before, way less understeer. Need to recalibrate rear and front shocks now.
