clanking sound

I had a real bad clanking sound, when i cranked the car, shut the car off, and going through 1st and 2nd. Someone told me that i was the tranny mount. So i changed it. well the clanking is gone when you start it and cut it off. It only does it now ever so often going from 1st to 2nd. I just got all new tires and they said everything axels, struts, etc were fine. Could it be the back motor mount or were the mount went bad is it the exahust rubbing or what cant figure it out plez help? To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: clanking sound

If you have one mount that is badly worn, it will definitely cause wear in the other mounts. It is a vicious cycle if you don't make sure you get all the worn mounts replaced at once.
