GC coiloers on stock front struts

Okay, I've done the search and I think even boiler didn't address this part on his lengthy BAD ASS how-to (very helpful and very bad ass). This would apply even if you had Koni Yellows since you're using the factory housing. But the factory perch spring on the struts are huge... Let me steal some photos.

So whenever you spin the Gold GC collar/spring perch (whatever you want to call it) down... it hits that big original perch. So the actual ride hight of the car will only go down so low since the perch holds the collar/spring perch at a certain hight.

I noticed that Boiler's bad ass how-to didn't address this and I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with this and what they did about it. I saw on GC's website these pix...

anyone know if I should slice these babies off? Or what do I do... and how would I go about doing it?

BONUS QUESTION
If I used stock springs in the rear with the Koni yellows (I have the yellows in the rear), and put it on the lowest perch... would it still be too high? or factory height? I was hoping I could achieve a bit of a drop but using stock springs. Thanks for the Help!!!

dont quote me on this, but I would believe that the stock spring would keep its ride height regardless of any type of shocks you shove inside them. But I will wait around for a suspension pro to answer this question.

^^^^ thats correct, use the whole GC kit.
The answer to the first question is..... take a dremel or cut off wheel and hack the spring seat off. I didnt need to, I didnt lower the car that much.

Thanks very much. that helps a lot. As for the rear, I just figured I could put the perch down on the lower notch and use the stock springs, but I suppose it wouldn't make much of a difference. The GCs feel great in the rear anyway.

As for lowering the fronts; Yeah, I didn't plan on lowering it that much either as I like the ride height right now. But I just want to be able to have full adjustment capability which is why I got the ground controls. Thanks boiler!

*EDIT* Boiler, did you use those ball bearings at the top of the front springs at all?

Also, one more question...

My rear yellows still have that silver perch at the bottom and I'm running with GC coils back there... Even when I lift the car, there is no slack for me to turn my GC perch and lower it. Should I fix it back to how you had it in ur how to? Basically looks like this but with GC coils:

The spring seat comes off, the GC collar sits on the C ring (i.e. you better have the GC kit made for koni shocks).
I have no idea what you're talking about with "ball bearings". If you mean the steering bearings, no, I didnt use them, pillowballs eliminate them.

Hmm... I'm not sure if the GCs are made for the Konis because I bought them second hand. Is there a problem with having them how I have it now? =\

*EDIT* how do I take off the spring seat? ALso... just read your how-to again... I should go measure the rear springs.
