Rep Power: 0 What's My Car Worth? 2001 EX, 4 Door, Black, Needs Engine
Mileage: 127k
Automatic Trans
Side restraint system
Factory sun roof
Cold Air
Stereo with CD
Recent OEM Honda alternator
Tires so-so
Has 08/16 VA inspection sticker
Anti-lock brakes
At 105K installed new Walker cat converter
Recent new OEM O2 sensors
Recent ground cables and computer
Battery light remains on, even with new alternator, but charges fine.
I bought this car at 105K from original owner. Never wrecked. Good title.
Has commercially installed hitch. I have not pulled any trailers with it.
No body rust present. Car has seen salt, evident looking under hood, surface corrosion present.
The Bad:
Dent in front passenger fender right behind headlight, see in photo, should pop out OK.
Hood latch broken inside car, can still shut hood, but must "help" latch back first.
Noise in front suspension on occasion, but passed inspection OK and drove fine.
Front seat "rocks" a little, minor annoyance, saw in Form how to fix this, never did.
Rear passenger power window works, but has a little noise going up and down.
Headliner fabric needs glue.
The Good:
Decent looking car, even with dent (IMO).
Interior decent
Body decent, would not take much for a black respray.
Never smoked in.
So....if this was your car, what type of money would you hope to get for it?
How much would you ask for it?
I know, probably worth more parted out, but I don't have the time and the HOA doesn't allow unregistered cars, and my basement garage is too full to hide it in there.

Re: What's My Car Worth? 2001 EX, 4 Door, Black, Needs Engine
why does your title say "needs engine"?
if i was personally wanting to buy your car, from what you have described i would not offer you over $1500
low mileage but its still 15 years old, and has some issues, which may or may not cost quite a bit,
the clunking in the front end and the battery light would be big concerns to me,
this is all assuming the engine is running fine,
if it really does need an engine my highest offer would be $250

Needs engine due to what appears to be a botched timing belt job....had new belt installed at 107k approx 3 years back from local garage, not from dealer...initially went to dealer for timing belt job, but left, long story...but I should have stayed and let them do the job...

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: What's My Car Worth? 2001 EX, 4 Door, Black, Needs Engine
How about "needs a valve job" instead of needing an engine?
How about getting the engine fixed, that makes the car more valuable....Right now it's value is about 12 cents per pound if it can't run.
Spend the grand or whatever to make it worth something more.

if it lasted 3 years its not a "botched job",
botched parts is more likely
