Re: Replacing 2001 Headlights - OEM or aftermarket?
did you have to adjust your left/right aim? cause at around 25ft, the two beams (blobs actually) would move to the middle and overlap instead of keep going straight like they supposed to. i finally fixed it but the aiming screws were resisting me lol. those lights feel like theyre about to fall apart inside. i priced out a new pair of oem lights on majestic and it came to 356 shipped. not bad but for now i can make do with the ebay lights. hopefully the philips xp bulbs will make them a bit brighter. there are so many hotspots and dark spots tho. oh yeah and on the ebay lights, one of the amber pieces is a slightly different shade than the other.

Re: Replacing 2001 Headlights - OEM or aftermarket?
I did have to adjust the left/right alignment, yes, but mine weren't blobbing together so much as they were both skewed too far to the right. Luckily for me, my adjusters were pretty cooperative I also note some hot/dark spots, but they're not too bad now that I'm used to them.
For reference, I rented a Pontiac G6 (not by choice) in Michigan over the Christmas holiday, and THOSE were some dim lights...especially driving in snow.

yeah those projectors suck both the sonar and tyc versions leaked a ton on me. those blacked out oems look so good! thats the best way to black out by leaving under the amber piece chrome. i was thinking about doing my ebay lights like that this summer maybe with semi flat black.

Re: Replacing 2001 Headlights - OEM or aftermarket?
I bought these JDM lights on e-bay. I put them in in about 30 minutes. I also have my HID lights in these as well, and they light up so much better, with the lens being prefectly clean and clear
Re: Replacing 2001 Headlights - OEM or aftermarket?
ive tried both oem and aftermarket and the aftermarket seems to have a brighter beam that goes farther and looks whiter using the same bulb. the oem has a smoother beam without hotspots but its not as bright or white. i prefer the oem i guess since its smoother, but i was able to see a bit better with aftermarket.
