| a new lease on life... So the other day while surfing CL I found a D17A1 with 4,500 miles for $400. I called the guy, he said he can prove it only has that many miles and give me a 30day warranty. My car currently has 117,000 on the ticker, miles shouldn't mean much considering i've maintained it religiously, but i'm buying this motor and starting fresh. Right now I have I/H/E and a centerforce df clutch. So I guess the reason i'm making this thread besides to torture you with my lameness is because i'm looking for some tips from a few of ya. I don't have the budget to go turbo, i'd rather kswap anyway (sorry foos). But i'd like to do pretty much whatever I can to make the most of my little A1. I know some of you have had your throttle bodies bored out, I forgot the company, who does it and what do you have to do to make it work when it gets back? I remember something about the TPS?? Also, has anyone used different pistons? Basicly right now I'm just planning on getting the new motor, painting the block black so she's nice n purdy, putting in new motor mount rubbers, new clutch and flywheel and whatever else I can gather from here.
