I need your help on the best way to mount - not suction cup - a low-end Magellan GPS 2000 on 2003 civic dash. Suction cup on windshield is prohibited in California. I spent all afternoon trying to figure out the best way to mount. I found ProClip but it's too expensive: ProClip Mounting System *-*Choose Your Country

I wouldn't say that the ProClip is too expensive. I would say it looks cheap. It is not an option if you are trying to keep your car looking good. Post a pic of the GPS with some measurements.
The specs are: Size 4.28" W x 3.15" H x 1.12" deep (W 108.8 mm x H 88 mm x D 28.5 mm), Weight 7.8 oz / 221 g , Display 3.5" color touch screen display, 2.11" x 2.81" (53.6mm x 71.5mm).
I found the GPS on line with the specs, thanks anyway. I am thinking about this, I will get back to you tomorrow probably. I have an idea but it will take some modification. Are you up for relocating the REC,AC, DEFR buttons?
