a cheap catalytic converter won't last nearly as long as your oem one
"trust me on that one.." a more expensive cat other than oem however will last a lot longer.
VS the cheaper one. because it has more of the precious metals found in it. if Your planing on
keeping it trust me spend the money and get the more expensive catalytic converter .

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: catalytic conv too much
GOOD cats are expensive. Newer cars that can set cat codes usually aren't happy with cheap cats for very long.
Cats by design contain much precious metals, Platinum, Palladium, and Rhodium are among the most expensive.
Cheapo cats contain much less or not all of them.
On the plus side, the ECM in a 91 car won't care about the quality of the cat because it isn't an on-board monitored emissions component.
All it's gotta do is pass the (annual?) emissions test if you have emissions testing in your area....and those are much less stringent than the on-board testing mandated by OBDII regulations.

Holy, yeah. 325 installed is dirt cheap for a cat installed. I have an aftermarket 49-state legal high flow cat that cost $350 shipped, plus the cost of the gasket/hardware kit. Passes an OBD-2 smog check every year, that's all that matters for me.
