Rep Power: 178 D16Z6 Timing Belt Change vs. Non-VTEC
How does changing a VTEC's timing belt compare to changing one on a non-VTEC for Civics from 92-95?
Story:
I am looking for a sedan to trade yada for my 2003 Coupe. I like the older Civics, design-wise. They're easy to work on and have good passenger compartment ventilation (compared to my 2003 Coupe). I have never worked on a VTEC engine.
TIA

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: D16Z6 Timing Belt Change vs. Non-VTEC
Given any particular year, there is no difference in doing the timing belt job between VTEC or non-VTEC.
VTEC is all in the cam and valvetrain, not the timing belt.

Thank you, ezone. I have my eye on what appears to be a well cared for 95 Civic EX sedan. I probably won't buy this one, but I am pondering it.
