| Re: Car Overheating Need Help Fast!!!!!!!!!! 15 seconds is the usual cycle. it doesnt stay on forever and usually the fan does very little of the cooling. the bottom hose should not be cold. it should be cooler than the top hose, but it should still get fairly warm, if not hot, depending on outside temps. if it really is cold, you have a clogged radiator and coolant is not circulating thru the engine properly.
