1st - 5th Gen Honda CivicAs these Honda Civics get older and older they become harder to find in great condition and less popular to modify. By no means does this make them less of a contender on the track or car audio competition. Don't forget the roots of what made import tuning what it has become today.

Hi, My car died on me on highway today and now it won't start. It will try to start, but just after few revolutions of starter it makes one "puffing" sound and stops turning. If I try to crank it again, it repeats itself - try to start for second, one puff and stops.
Please, any idea, what the cause may be, where to start looking? Thank you very much...

Hey, was your civic over heating when this happend? and if it doesnt start up again it can be the starter motor, thats what come to my mind atleast, wish i was any bit of help to u and ur car.
How long since the last timing belt change? Sounds kinda like when I had a Fiat that died & couldn't be jump-started or push-started. The timing belt had slipped a few notches so every time we tried pushing it the pistons were bending the valves. I don't know if the pistons can contact the valves in a civic but hope that aint it.
