1st - 5th Gen Honda Civic As these Honda Civics get older and older they become harder to find in great condition and less popular to modify. By no means does this make them less of a contender on the track or car audio competition. Don't forget the roots of what made import tuning what it has become today.

whats a first gen worth?

there is a towing company in the same shop complex as mine, who every month does auction.. today i noticed there was a old honda civic in the lot. I check the door tag and it say 11/79. it has 4 headlights and CCVC badges. i asked and they said it runs fine.. what is something like this worth. the body appears to be in good condition considering its age. I am come from the Toyota pickup world, so i'm not sure if this is like finding an old rare 1st gen toyota or if its common place to find these rigs.

i'll try to get a pic before the auction and post it here.

thanks

Gearbox,
Just curious- what deficiencies do you see in that pictures? To me it looks remarkably straight, considering those old CVCCs tended to dissolve into rust before they could become "classics".
Now, the car next to it looks like it could use a little TLC

Re: whats a first gen worth?

i was mainly referring to it needing a full paint job, which would be around $5-6k for a quality job. you may want to try and diy the prep work like rust removal, sanding, primer, then take it to one of those quick paint places like maaco and pay $500 for a paint only job. most places charge so much for the prep work and little for actually painting it. i think on an older car thats the best way to go. it will look really nice with a fresh paint job. i like the hood vents too.
