1st - 5th Gen Honda Civic As these Honda Civics get older and older they become harder to find in great condition and less popular to modify. By no means does this make them less of a contender on the track or car audio competition. Don't forget the roots of what made import tuning what it has become today.

New To Forum and Hondas - Oil Leak mystery and tune up questions?

Hi all, I just bought my first Honda. 95 Civic LX 1.5 (D15B7 right?) 5 spd 105,000 miles.

I am a very mechanical person with tons of Mustang and miata experience, but no Honda knowlage.

I have a oil leak. Rear lower part of engine. I need to identify where it is coming from and thought I would ask where the commons ones are.

I have read the oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket and dizzy gasket. Anything else I should check?

Today I am doing a full tune up, rewiring a few fudged up wires, and other maintenance. Anything of the top of your guys heads I should look at?

Thanks

Chris

Re: New To Forum and Hondas - Oil Leak mystery and tune up questions?

Well after working on the car today I found the spark plug holes filled with Oil. So I am guessing a valve cover gasket job is in order (doesnt it come with seals for the spark plug holes?).

Cleaned the engine bay as well so I can more easily idenitfy where else it is leaking.
