1st - 5th Gen Honda Civic As these Honda Civics get older and older they become harder to find in great condition and less popular to modify. By no means does this make them less of a contender on the track or car audio competition. Don't forget the roots of what made import tuning what it has become today.

93 civic hatch missing bad past 3000 rpm

I just put a new distributor in it thinking that was the problem and got it timed but still misses real bad past 3000 rpm. Once you get over that you have to shift to next gear because it shakes and doesnt catch at all. I would appreciate any ideas,

Thanks

My 93 LX is having a similar problem. In addition, sometimes the car will turn over but won't start. I can come back a few hours later and it starts up fine. Also, it has missed so bad that it has died while I'm driving it as well.

I've heard it's either the distributor or the main relay...it definitely seems electrical. You replaced the head gasket and your problems were solved? My dad had a 95 civic that would also do the same thing - and I believe smoke sometimes came out the back.
