1st - 5th Gen Honda Civic As these Honda Civics get older and older they become harder to find in great condition and less popular to modify. By no means does this make them less of a contender on the track or car audio competition. Don't forget the roots of what made import tuning what it has become today.

Is my alternator bad??

i drive a 93civic ex. when i turn the car on the lights pluse. the interior lights headlights and everything. when i rev the engine faster the lights pulse faster. is that the alternator? i was just informed that the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor could be contributing to this problem which makes sense because the plug wires are crappy universal ones. any help would be much appreciated. Re: Is my alternator bad??

i don't see injectors having anything to do with this issue. i'd try a new alternator, but i'm sure someone will have a definite answer for you eventually, rather than my pure speculation.

If you have a cold air intake, check your ground. When you install the CAI, there is a grounding point there, if its improperly tightened or has wiggled lose this will cause what is happening.

Re: Is my alternator bad??

another thing is when i apply a load (headlights or a/c) the problem seems to fix itself except for a periodic "less-than-a-second" dip in brightness. i just added a bottle of injector cleaner just to let you know and when this problem occurs it sounds like the lights pulse with the rythm of the engine.
